Details: Located on the mainland across the sea from the Kamchatka Peninsula it is a huge landmass with a tiny human population, which guarantees very little hunting pressure. In the spring and early summer, bears concentrate along the shoreline, eating dead smelt, fish roe, and shellfish, which can cover a shoreline to the depth of 2 inches. The bears are about the same size as the coastal bears of Kamchatka Peninsula, or Alaska. The average size of the bears’ trophy is around 8.5 ft square. In some areas along the sea of Okhotsk shore during the spring hunt, it is possible to observe 30-50 and more bears at once from a single location. The success rate is over 100% because all hunters take 2 and sometimes more bears. Rocky terrain and short brush allow approaching bears within a short distance making this hunt perfect for bow hunters.
