Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in St. Petersburg, 550 miles, taking 8 to 10 hours, transfer to the hunting lodge.
Day 2-8: 7 days of hunting
Day 9: return to St. Petersburg for a flight home.

Details:

The guiding territory is several miles from the Finnish border, requiring a long ride over dirt roads; therefore, only a few hunters can reach it. As a result, the usual trophy size is larger than an average Eurasian bear, averaging 8 ft. The hunt is conducted from well-equipped high stands over meat or fish bait. The success rate is about 90%. Often, hunters harvest more than one bear. The weather is usually cool and dry, with melted snow water on the ground. Capercaillie and black cock hunts can be added if the mating season is still active. Baits can be placed within 30 to 40 yards of high stands, making this hunt suitable for a bow.
